We Hear This Often

Maybe you’ve been wondering…

You are not the only parent asking these questions.

“Should my child be saying more by now?”
“Their therapist says they’re making progress, but I don’t know what to do between sessions.”
“I try to get them to talk, but sometimes it feels like I’m putting too much pressure on them.”
“My child communicates differently. I want to meet them where they are.”
“We’re raising our child bilingually and I don’t want to give up our home language.”
“Everyone keeps giving me advice. I just want to know what actually makes sense for my child.”

You shouldn’t have to become a speech therapist to support your child.

Family Coaching gives you practical strategies and the confidence to know when and how to use them.

Two Paths, One Goal

Speech therapy doesn’t only happen during a therapy session.

Traditional Model

The therapist works directly with your child.

Useful for
  • Targeted skill development
  • Structured intervention
  • Individual treatment goals

Family Coaching

We help you become more confident supporting communication throughout your child’s day.

Useful for
  • Carryover between sessions
  • Building communication into routines
  • Reducing pressure around talking
  • Supporting AAC
  • Helping caregivers use consistent strategies

Sometimes children benefit from one. Sometimes they benefit from both. We’ll help you determine what makes sense for your family.

  • Recognizing communication attempts
  • Turning routines into language opportunities
  • Knowing when to wait, model, expand, gesture, or use visuals
  • Feeling more comfortable supporting AAC
  • Helping other caregivers participate

Culturally Responsive Care

Your home language belongs in your child’s communication journey.

Families should never feel pressured to abandon the language that connects their child to parents, grandparents, culture, and community.

We coach families in the language they naturally use at home and offer guidance grounded in your family’s real linguistic experience, not an English-only lens.

Coaching LanguagesEnglish, Haitian Creole, and Spanish coaching may be available depending on current clinician availability. We’ll confirm language support during your consultation.

You do not need to speak only English to help your child communicate.

AAC Families

If your child uses AAC, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Coaching helps the people around your child become confident, responsive communication partners at home, not just in session.

  • Model AAC during ordinary activities
  • Create opportunities without forcing device use
  • Respond to multimodal communication
  • Include AAC during play, books, meals, and outings
  • Help the whole family become communication partners
  • Build confidence using the system outside therapy
