What is SLP contracting?+
SLP (speech-language pathologist) contracting is when a school district, preschool program, agency, or facility partners with an outside SLP or agency to provide services on a contract basis for evaluations, direct therapy, IEP-mandated services, screenings, or program consultation.
Why do districts and programs contract with outside SLPs?+
The most common reasons are: hiring shortages, unmet bilingual needs, unusual caseload demands (e.g. a sudden influx of AAC users), needing an Independent Educational Evaluator, needing coverage during a leave, or wanting a specialist for a specific program (early childhood, autism support, AAC classroom).
What services can you provide as a contractor?+
Comprehensive speech and language evaluations (CPSE, CSE, IEE), direct 1:1 and small-group therapy, push-in classroom support, AAC evaluations and implementation, bilingual evaluations in Haitian Creole and Spanish, teacher and para consultation, IEP writing, annual reviews, and parent conferences.
Do you serve public schools, charter schools, and private programs?+
Yes, all three. We contract with NYC DOE schools, charter networks, private special education programs, EarlyLearn and Head Start programs, agencies, and community-based organizations across NYC and Long Island.
Are you covered by insurance and liability?+
Yes. We carry professional liability insurance and can provide certificates of insurance to your business office. Our SLP is New York state-licensed, ASHA-certified, and background-cleared.
Can you provide bilingual evaluations we cannot staff internally?+
Yes, this is one of our most common contract types. We provide bilingual evaluations in Haitian Creole and Spanish, following ASHA best practices and state guidelines for culturally and linguistically diverse students.
How quickly can you start?+
For evaluations, we can typically begin within 1 to 2 weeks. For ongoing direct-service caseloads, onboarding usually takes 2 to 4 weeks, depending on district clearance timelines.
How is pricing structured?+
Pricing varies by service type: per-evaluation, per-hour, per-session, or a fixed monthly retainer for ongoing caseloads. We provide a written proposal after a scoping call, no surprises.
Do you write IEPs and attend meetings?+
Yes. We write speech-language sections of IEPs, prepare progress reports, attend CPSE/CSE meetings, and coordinate with your related-service team as needed.
Can you support students with AAC?+
Yes. AAC is one of our specialties. We can support AAC evaluations, direct AAC therapy, and staff training as part of a contract.
Do you support agencies serving Early Intervention children?+
Yes. We contract with EI agencies for evaluations and direct services in family homes throughout NYC and Long Island.
Do you cover for staff leaves (maternity, medical, sabbatical)?+
Yes. Short-term coverage is a common contract, and we build continuity into every hand-off so students don't lose momentum.
Can you provide teletherapy for our program?+
Yes, when clinically and legally appropriate. Teletherapy can be a strong solution for high-need districts with staffing challenges or for specific populations.
Do you provide screenings?+
Yes. We offer preschool and school-wide speech-language screenings, including bilingual screenings for programs with linguistically diverse populations.
How do you handle documentation, HIPAA, and FERPA?+
All documentation is completed in your program's system of record when possible, or in our HIPAA-compliant EHR. Every contract includes appropriate BAA, FERPA, and data-handling language.
Are you affiliated with a specific AAC or curriculum vendor?+
No, and this is intentional. We are manufacturer-neutral for AAC and evidence-based across curricula, so recommendations are always in the student's best interest, not a vendor's.
Can you help us build a new program (autism classroom, AAC program, early childhood suite)?+
Yes. Program consultation is one of the most impactful ways we partner with districts, combining evaluations, direct services, staff training, and coaching into an integrated build.
Do you provide services in New York City DOE-related buildings?+
Yes, subject to standard NYC DOE vendor and clearance requirements. We regularly work in DOE and DOE-adjacent settings.
Who is our point of contact?+
You'll have a single, senior SLP as your account lead, no bouncing between reps. Communication is direct, responsive, and built for busy special education administrators.
How do we start the conversation?+
Book a free 20-minute scoping call. Bring your top 2 to 3 needs and any timeline pressure, and we'll walk through how we can help.
